The SPF Quality Assurance Program used by CUFCA has been developed specifically to exceed the needs of building owners, architects, engineers and other professionals looking at using sprayed polyurethane foam for their projects. By providing such a high level of confidence in the product and installation, it has become the product and programs of choice, providing an example for all other building products to follow.
The SPF Quality Assurance Program used by CUFCA has been developed using ISO 9000 principles. The SPF Quality Assurance Program requires the product meet the Underwriters' Laboratories of Canada (ULC) material standard and the ULC Installation standard (CAN/ULC-S705.1 and S705.2). These National Standards provide the backbone for the Quality Assurance Program for the sprayed polyurethane foam industry.
SPECIFICATIONS
SPF is specified under section 07216 of the NMS format and a sample specification, both hard copy and on disk, is available in the CUFCA Product Handbook. An important part of the specification is the reference to the CAN/ULC standards to which SPF must be manufactured and applied.
CAN/ULC 705.1-01
The material standard referenced in Canadian building codes. The Foam-LOK CC material has been tested and evaluated by CCMC (Canadian Construction Materials Centre, a branch of the NRC) and has been issued an evaluation number.
CAN/ULC 705.2-01
The application standard and only CUFCA licensed companies can purchase evaluated materials and only CUFCA certified installers can apply the material.
The CAN/ULC standards assure the specifier that the material is both manufactured and applied to high standards and that the installation meets the requirements of the mandatory ISO 9002 Quality Assurance Program.
